Nelson & Associates was founded in 1977 with a simple goal: represent great manufacturers, build strong relationships, and provide exceptional service to the electrical industry.
What started as a small operation with six employees working out of a 5,000-square-foot facility has grown into a multi-state organization serving manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and end users throughout the western United States.
Today, Nelson & Associates is led by Brian Haupt and supported by a team of dedicated professionals across California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Hawaii, and surrounding markets. While we’ve grown significantly over the years, our approach remains the same—build lasting relationships, work hard, and do what we say we’re going to do.
Our growth has been driven by talented people, trusted manufacturer partnerships, and a commitment to helping our customers succeed. We are proud of where we’ve come from and excited about where we’re headed.

Our story also includes Healy Mattos, a company that served Northern California’s electrical industry for generations.
Built on strong relationships, industry expertise, and a commitment to exceptional service, Healy Mattos earned the trust and respect of manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and customers throughout the region. The company’s reputation was built over decades through the hard work, dedication, and integrity of its employees and leadership team.
In 2025, Healy Mattos became part of Nelson & Associates, bringing together two organizations that shared many of the same values and a common commitment to serving the electrical industry.
Today, we operate as one company under the Nelson & Associates name, but the Healy Mattos legacy remains an important part of who we are. The relationships, experience, and reputation built by the Healy team continue to strengthen our organization and help shape our future.
We are proud to carry that legacy forward as we continue serving customers and manufacturing partners throughout Northern California and beyond.
